Xero has made another move to bring machine learning and artificial intelligence to its cloud-based small business accounting software, adding functionality to its ‘bills’ feature that will recommend what account codes a business should use.

Xero has introduced what it says is the first personalised machine learning capability for a small business cloud accounting system. Its main role is to automatically allocate the correct account code to invoices.
When Xero announced in November that it had completed its shift to a public cloud platform, the accounting software-as-a-service provider claimed that it was one of the largest migrations of its kind to be attempted in Australia and New Zealand.
