The South China Morning Post’s website scmp.com, developed by New Zealand company Catalyst IT, has won a gold award at the Asian Digital Media Awards, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The awards are presented by the World Association of Newspapers and New Publishers (WAN/IFRA), a trade association which provides a variety of events, training and research services.

"We are extremely pleased that [the South China Morning Post] site has been recognised as being a gold-medal winner,” says Catalyst director Don Christie. “This is further proof that open source software is the smart choice for companies working

in environments where flexibility and scalability are critical.”

More than 50 media companies from 16 countries across Asia and the Middle East participated in the competition.
