Whoosh launched as ASP

Online health and safety management systems have been launched by an Auckland company.

Whoosh Technology, an arm of Delphic Medical Systems, is offering the systems as an application service provider (ASP).

Delphic marketing co-ordinator Clare Farrant says the systems will help ensure firms are OSH-compliant, reports can be generated in the required format, risks can be calculated, safety can be reviewed and health and safety co-ordinators receive regular reminders to stay compliant.

The rental cost of the system is based on staff numbers and clients are supported by email and phone.

The system has four levels of security, from passwords and encryption of data to a secure server, so company details do not fall into the wrong hands.

"Renting a health and safety management system is likely to lead to reduced insurance, rehabilitation, legal and administration costs and greater productivity, as well as freeing up the IT person," says Farrant.

"Because companies should see a reduction in time lost due to accidents and illness, worker moral and industrial relations should improve - something every employer wants to see," she says.
