Compaq lowers portable prices

Compaq is cutting prices on its Armada portable computers, and on memory for the portable range. The price reductions amount to savings of up to 13% - with suggested retail prices starting at $2850. In addition, memory can be purchased for the entire Armada range at between 18% to 35% off previous suggested retail prices.

In addition, memory can be purchased for the entire Armada range at between 18% to 35% off previous suggested retail prices. For 16Mb of Ram for the Armada 1500 and 1700, the new suggested retail price is $265, down from $385.

Compaq New Zealand PC products business marketing manager George Hladilo says Compaq’s continuing price reductions reflect its commitment to its portable computer customers.

Until September 7, Compaq is offering a multimedia bonus of a free mobile CD unit with any Armada 4100 family notebook and free16Mb RAM upgrade and a MultiBay CD-ROM drive with any Armada 7710T notebook.

All prices exclude GST.
