Software vendor Symantec Corp. expanded its presence in Asia last Friday by announcing the establishment of its North Asia headquarters in Hong Kong.
The new regional office will cover the markets of Hong Kong, the People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Korea and the Philippines.
"As more and more businesses in areas such as Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan invest in building their corporate IT infrastructure, we expect to see significant, long-term demand for our products," said Garry Sexton, regional managing director, Symantec Asia-Pacific.
The North Asia office will be headed by regional director Daniel Schneersohn, the company said.
Schneerson said in a statement that Symantec will demonstrate its commitment to the North Asian market by investing in increased localization efforts to develop Chinese language products.
