Kiwi innovation flying high as Serko CEO receives New York endorsement

Serko CEO Darrin Grafton named one of the 25 most influential executives in the business travel industry in 2014

Serko CEO Darrin Grafton has today been named as one of the 25 most influential executives in the business travel industry in 2014 by American-based Business Travel News (BTN).

In acknowledgement of Kiwi innovation, Serko’s win marks the first time that anyone from Australasia has been recognised in the 31 years the awards have been running.

The award places Grafton among a high calibre of previous winners including Chairman and CEO of Concur, Steve Singh, and Tom Horton, CEO of American Airlines.

“I’m extremely honoured and humbled to be the first New Zealander to be recognised amongst an incredible array of winners," says Grafton, after accepting the award in a ceremony in New York today.

“New Zealand is punching well above its weight in the technology space; boasting some great companies like Xero, Vend and Serko, who are all taking on transformation of critical business processes on the global stage. It is really exciting to be part of that right now.”
